This is my journey…

My journey started when I walked into my local shelter and fell head over heels for an adorable little puppy, Roxy. Perhaps just like many of you, I thought I would frolic off into the sunset, instantly bonded with my new perfectly behaved dog.

Oh boy, did I have my work cut out for me!

I grew up with dogs but I always had “mellow mutts.”  I was in way over my head. I went through four dog trainers in less than two years. Roxy was extremely mouthy, she chewed up furniture, ripped up the back yard, jumped on everyone, nipped, and everything in between. Walking her was a nightmare. Friends and family members wanted me to give Roxy up. I tried everything from clicker training to e-collar training, but I could never quite find the right approach for her. Tired of feeling hopeless and stuck, I was determined to find an answer.

I started learning from as many dog trainers as I could. I finally found success! After I turned Roxy around, into the balanced and well-behaved dog I always wanted (and never thought I would have in her!), I realized dog training had become my passion – I wanted to help dog owners who were struggling just like I had for so long, with no answers.

I began attending seminars and learning from some of the best trainers in the United States and Canada.

Today, when my friends and family members see Roxy again, they are amazed at the dog she has become. And that’s what I want for you! I opened Pure Canine Training to help dog owners like you. I have been where you are and I have felt the frustration that comes with not being able to break through to your dog. Pure Canine Training is here to help you turn your unruly dog into a polite and respectful member of the family. We exist to give you hope and set you up for a healthy and lasting relationship with your canine companion.

I am a balanced dog trainer and believe in doing what is best for both you and your dog. Teamwork is my philosophy. I do not believe that we can succeed without working together. To achieve success we need all hands on deck.
